Attached are the results from Round # 1 held on Sunday 19th at the Vaucluse Raceway. The results are listed in overall position based on the fastest time recorded by each competitor during the day however the position in each class is shown as well as the points scored from the event.

We had a good start to the year and I want to thank all of you who entered as well as the following persons for marshaling during the event, John Jones Jr, Andrew Gittens, Kofe Jean Baptiste, Rasheed Smith, Akeem Clarke, Andre Lashley and Ryan.
The year started where it ended off with a battle between Christopher ” Teach ” McFarlane in his Evolution 10 and Stuart Garcia in his Impreza STI for the fastest time overall and tops in the 4 Wheel Drive Class which ended with ” Teach ” recording a 5th consecutive Autocross fastest time overall.

The return to the 2 Wheel Drive Class of Tristan Gibbs, who was sharing the Honda Civic SRI 1600 of Stephen Edwards, saw a close battle with Stuart Garcia in his ” Bimmer’ cup BMW 1800 as both competitors were driving these cars for the first time during a competition. Tristan would take the class and also record the 3rd fastest time overall with Stuart in a very close 4th fastest overall and 2nd in class. We now wait to see Tristan back out in his Toyota Corolla GT as we all have memories of that epic driving display from a past Autocross held at Andrews Factory Yard.

Marlon Bell continued with his form from last year taking 3rd in 2 Wheel Drive and 5th fastest overall in his Nissan Skyline 2500 and was less than a second off the times of Tristan and Stuart. Dan Johnson rebounded from his disappointing result, in his debut event at the end of last year, with an excellent 4th place in 2 Wheel Drive and 6th fastest overall in the Westfield Megawatt Electric and Graeme Finlayson rounded out the top 5 2 Wheel Drive competitors in the Westfield 3500 V8 which he was sharing with owner Rommel Holder.

Derek Rudder debuted a Subaru Impreza WRX and took 3rd in the 4 Wheel Drive Class while first timer Jermaine Bradshaw in his Toyota Alteza 2000 quickly came to grips with the sport of Autocross and put in a creditable performance with only 1 DNF recorded and improved his times on each run.

We look forward to Round # 2 on Saturday April 1st where we should see the likes of Trevor Mapp, Jamal Brathwaite, Kofe Jean Baptiste, Andre Lashley and Roystone Hinkson who all missed Round # 1, returning to do battle in the 2 Wheel Drive Class and hopefully a previous Champion Omar Boodhoo in the 4 Wheel Drive Class in his Subaru Impreza STI.
